I messed up a little here but nothing was broken. Just use a box cutter or small flathead to scrape a cut across the trace. I chose the pin on the left-hand-side of the board because the trace is nice and exposed on the bottom of the board. ![]() Then you just need to cut the RESET pin's trace to isolate it from the rest of the board. I just ran a short-circuit test between the capacitor and the AREF pin using my multi-meter. Either way, carefully solder them together with a small length of wire and be sure to double check that you're connecting the right stuff. You can solder to the ATMEGA directly, or do as I did and solder to the capacitor that has a direct connection to it. You need to connect that two the RESET pin on the left side. The ATMEGA's AREF pin can be seen highlighted in this picture. If you have an older version of the Pro Mini, you'll have a "No Connection" (NC) pin that you can use instead. All you have to do is re-purpose one of these pins to be your AREF pin. The Pro Mini has two reset pins (again, for some reason.). All you need is soldering stuff, a wire (insulated, unless you're edgy), and something a bit sharp. ![]() If you want this functionality on your board, it's a pretty easy fix (although a little janky). The Pro Mini has no AREF pin for some reason.
